WPA National Over-55s - 2017
Huge congratulations to Bob Pugh and Peter Westall who, repeated their success in 2016 by once again becoming WPA National Over 55s champions (this time, with Peter Beresford) and again going on to represent Wales in the 4th European Veterans Championships in Karlslunde, Denmark.
The team played well for much of the competition, but sadly fell again in the Quarter Finals of the Nations Cup, this time losing to Jersey.

WPA National Over-55s - 2016
Huge congratulations to Bob Pugh, Ray Hayes and Peter Westall who, along with Jake Caston from Caerleon RFC PC were crowned WPA National Over 55s champions and subsequently went on to represent Wales in the 3rd European Veterans Championships in Monaco.

President's Cup = 2015
Congratulations to The Wenvoe Raiders, Dave Cannan, Mike Jacques and Jeff Ball, on winning the 2015 President's Cup, played at the Monkstone Petanque Club on Sunday 8th March.
A great start to the new season, and confidence-boost for their upcoming visit to Ireland for the Celtic Challenge as Wales 1.

Welsh Cup for Clubs 2014
Once again, this year the WPA chose to play the Welsh Cup fro Clubs as a knock-out competition, despite there only being 4 Clubs entered.
Wenvoe were drawn agains Monkstone PC in the first round with a Home draw in the first leg - Monkstone coming out with a narrow 3-2 lead. Unfortunately, we suffered a heavy defeat in the Away leg, leaving Monkstone to compete for the title, and Wenvoe to play for 3rd/4th place against our friends at Penarth PC.
A 3-2 win in the first Away leg on a cold, damp night at Dian Powys RFC, gave Wenvoe the edge, which we sustained through the Home leg, taking the honours 6-4 overall.
Well done to all the Wenvoe members who competed in both rounds.
Good luck to our friends at Wheatsheaf and Monkstone when they compete for the National title and in the 2015 European competition.

CEP Ladies European Championships - Mersin, Turkey
Huge congratulations to Joanie Roberts and Social Member, Gay Evans (Monkstone Inn PC), who, along with Jill Brace (Wheatsheaf PC) represented Wales in the CEP Ladies European Championships, held in Mersin, Turkey in September 2014.
In the beast performance seen by a Welsh Team in a major competition, the ladies made it to the Quarter-Finals of the Nations Cup, narrowly losing to Ukraine.

Celtic Challenge 2015 Qualifier - Brecon RFC PC

WPA League Plate Finals - Pentwyn Leisure Centre
Congratulations to the Wenvoe Warriors (Jane Hayman, Mike Jacques, Geoff Jones, Richard Mears and Captain, Rob Hayman) on winning the WPA League Plate competition, winning 10 out of 12 games, held at the Pentwyn Leisure Centre, Cardiff on Sunday 7th September 2014.

Home Nations 2014 - Mansfield PC
Congratulations to Dave Cannan, Jane Hayman, Mike Jacques, Bob Pugh & Joanie Roberts. who represented Wales in the 2014 Home Nations at the Mansfield Petanque Club. An excellent venue, hosted by very hospitable people, coupled with excellent weather on the Saturday made for a wonderful start to the competition.
Sadly, the Sunday fell victim to the dreadful weather - only one round being played as the pistes increasingly flooded as a result of the torrential rain. Only 8 rounds were played in total.
Well done to Jane on breaking her Home Nations "virginity", and special well done to Bob on being part of the top Welsh Team (Wales 3) with 6 wins from 8, along with Gemma Foster & Jake Caston from Wheatsheaf Inn PC & Scott Murray from Penarth PC.

Congratulations to Mike Jacques and Jane Hayman on their success as WPA National Mixed Doubles Champions 2013.
Welsh Cup for Clubs 2013 - Monkstone PC
The Wenvoe Club asserted themselves well in this year's Welsh Cup for Clubs. Fielding a Team made of 7 players, we picked up 2 Wins in Round 1 against hosts, Monkstone PC - one Triple & 1 Double. In Round 2, we were drawn against Caerleon RFC PC and had more success with 3 wins - again 1 Triple but this time 2 of the doubles were victorious.
5 Wins was sufficient for the Team to reach the top-4 Knockout stage where we were drawn against Monkstone Inn PC. Despite picking a wonderful 13-0 win in one of the Triples, we were unsuccessful in the remaining games.

WPA League Plate 2012 Final
The Final of the WPA League Plate was fought between Wenvoe Dragons (Reg Brice, Mel Davies, Tony Jellings & Dave Cannan) and Wenvoe 2 (Karen Macleod, Gay Evans, Gloria Davies & Steve Davies). In a match the went to the wire, the Dragons came out victors on the day.
